  1. Julia

Thanks for such thorough and clear explanation. I followed your direction for buying tickets with WeChat and it worked flawlessly!
However, other than payment receipt with Order number, the system did not provide any QR code or the ticket itself. How do I enter the site without them? Thanks in advance.

  2. Barry

Thanks for this. If only there was a similar guide for how to get a ticket for the Shaanxi History Museum. Because they are free, third party ticket vendors don’t supply them. Wechat is incomprehensible! Their link to buy tickets is broken.

    • Ricky

I’m glad you found the info helpful! Yes, I’ll definitely consider writing a blog post about how to get tickets to the Shaanxi History Museum later when I have some time. That’s a great idea to help others too!

  3. Marielle

Hi Ricky, I have tried to book via the official Terracotta Army website however it doesn’t accept my mobile phone number (00316*******8) so I cannot proceed. Do you have idea how this is possible?

    • Ricky

      Hi there,

Hi Marielle, It sounds like the Terracotta Army booking site only accepts Chinese phone numbers. You might need to use a local number to complete your booking.

      Best,
      Ricky

  4. Aubrey

Thank you for the detailed guide. I wish I saw this before, it was not easy without a guide. Anyhow, still good for other people who desires to visit. Same as Julia I did not receive any other confirmation pdf only the screen shot you showed from the website showing my order summary. What will I present on the day I need to queue to exhange to physical tickets? Thank you so much.

    • Ricky

I’m glad to hear the information is helpful! For your visit to the Terracotta Army, presenting the screenshot of your order summary should suffice when you arrive. Typically, the staff at tourist attractions are accustomed to digital confirmations, especially when physical tickets need to be issued on-site.

To ensure a smooth process, I recommend having a digital copy (the screenshot on your phone) of your order summary.

When you get to the ticket counter, just show your screenshot to the staff, and they should be able to exchange it for your physical tickets. If you’re concerned or want to double-check, you could also reach out to the ticketing service where you purchased the tickets to confirm that the screenshot will be accepted or if there are any additional steps you should follow.

Enjoy your visit to the Terracotta Army, and if there’s anything else you need to know before your trip, feel free to ask!

    • Ricky

Thank you for reaching out. I’ve checked with the official guide at the Terracotta Warriors Museum, and unfortunately, there is no free entry for foreign senior visitors. The free ticket policy for seniors applies only to Chinese citizens.
