Best Guide to The Great Wall of Xiangshuihu

Brief Introduction to Xiangshuihu Great Wall

The Great Wall is one of the most striking of all China’s attractions, and much of it has been restored to its former glory. One such restored section can be found in the scenic but little-visited Xiangshuihu Great Wall.

Not only are visitors provided with a unique insight into Chinese history from Xiangshuihu Great Wall, but there are also other natural attractions, such as sparkling natural springs, an ancient cave, and a spectacular waterfall. Xiangshui “lake” is a natural spring that originates 550 meters above sea level and feeds into the Huairou Reservoir. The tranquility of the area also draws both locals and tourists alike.

Xiangshuihu Great Wall was ordered constructed by the leadership of the Ming Dynasty, who ruled over China from 1368 to 1644. The Wall meanders over scenic hills and flows sinuously like the dragons, an essential part of Chinese folklore. An important feature is the Moshikou Pass, constructed in 1404.

The service facilities of the scenic area are excellent. The Xiangshui Villas, in a style of ancient architecture, stands in full view, while the local restaurant offers excellent cuisine based on traditional recipes. You won’t be disappointed by the Rainbow Trout and the country-style barbecue.

Location

Xiangshuihu Great Wall is located west of Mutianyu Great Wall, only over 80 kilometers from Beijing, East of Dazhenyu Village in the Huairou District.
