While in Datong, make sure to visit the Hanging Temple and Buddha Caves. You don’t necessarily need a guide, but remember to bring your camera, as the exterior of the Hanging Temple is particularly stunning in low light.
Choose the Right Transportation to Xi’an
When traveling to Xi’an, you’ll need to decide between the Deluxe soft sleeper train from Beijing or the fast train from Datong.
