Attention: Temple of Heaven is to close on Sept, 30th and Oct, 1st, 2014

Latest updates on Sept, 29th: Forbidden City opens at 7:30AM between Oct 1st and Oct 4th to accommodate the increased number of visitors during the holiday. Last ticket is still sold out at 4PM during that time.

For celebrating the 65th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, Temple of Heaven along with other 4 parks: Chaoyong park, Taoranting park, Yuyantan park, Yuanboyuan park are to close on Sept, 30th (12pm–6pm), and Oct 1st, 2014. If your travel plans involve Temple of Heaven on the 30th, Sept and the 1st, Oct, 2014, better adjust your plan to other sites.

Meanwhile 373 parks including Beijing Botanical Garden, Fragrant Hills Park,  Old Summer Palace and the Temple of Earth are to open free on the 1st, October, 2014.

It is really crowed in most places of China during the golden week, streets, tourist areas, shopping malls, etc. Most tourists areas will be open during the holiday. Try to avoid the first two days and the last day of the “Golden Week”. They are the busiest time for transportation system, when the flight tickets are highest and train and long-distance bus tickets are hardest to buy.
