Get ready for an exciting day filled with adventure and beauty as we explore the stunning Gubeikou to Jinshanling hike!
You’ll be conveniently collected from your accommodation at 7:30 am, or at a time that suits you best, as we embark on this delightful journey.
Our adventure will kick off at the picturesque Gubeikou village, where we’ll take a gentle climb up to a fascinating broken tower.
As we walk eastward, be sure to have your camera ready!
There will be ample opportunities to capture breathtaking vistas before we reach the majestic General Tower.
Here, you’ll get to witness the true, untouched nature of Gubeikou mountain.
After an invigorating one-hour climb through several historical towers, we’ll arrive at the 24-window tower.
A unique feature of this area is that part of the wall belongs to the military, providing an interesting insight into the local history.
Then, we’ll descend into the enchanting basins of Spider Valley, followed by a leisurely walk through lush cornfields, leading us to the hilly trail.
Your curiosity will be piqued as we pass an abandoned house nestled in the middle of the valley, complete with a well and water storage.
Continuing our adventure through the hilly trail for 1.5 hours, we’ll make our way back to the majestic Jinshanling wall.
After a brief climb, the West five-window Tower awaits, offering a serene spot to gaze down into Spider Valley.
The hike culminates at the renowned Zhuanduokou, where a scrumptious farm-style lunch in Bakeshiying town will reward your efforts. Then, simply relax and enjoy the ride back to Beijing.
Spanning approximately 12 miles (20 km) and divided into four distinct sections – Simatai, Jinshanling, Panlongshan, and Wohushan – Gubeikou offers a wide array of experiences.
Expect the hike towards Jinshanling to take 4-5 hours, providing a wonderful opportunity to explore Gubeikou’s true wilderness in an informative and accessible way.
